3 Ways MMA Training Has Changed Since the Early UFC
Training for MMA has evolved very significantly since the early days of the UFC, including changing attitudes to training with gloves, wall fighting, and fighter conditioning. To discuss I'm joined by Denis Kang who started fighting MMA in 1998 in an event without gloves, then went on to have 55 matches in the UFC, PRIDE, DREAM, Impact FC, M-1 Global, K-1 HERO'S, ROAD FC, and Pancrase.

Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Месяц назад
Most MMA fighters now used the wall to stand back up after they've been taken down. Here Denis Kang, a veteran of the UFC, PRIDE, DREAM, Impact FC, M-1 Global, K-1 HERO'S, ROAD FC, and Pancrase, shows you two ways to shut down the MMA fence standup.

I'm having my hip replaced anteriorly ( thru the front). They say it's the best approach and no muscles are damaged. They go between two muscle masses. Thanks for the video.

In silat scissor takedown is farely common and relatively safe. I dont understand why there is more injuries caused by it in bjj and judo than in silat.

Guys in the vid. look fairly close in size and weight. How easy is it to 'bridge' when the person on top is much bigger/ heavier? And if it doesn't work when person on top is much heavier - what do you do then?

lol, this throw was banned because of the Europeans and not because it was dangerous. My late Sensei taught us keni basami in the early 90s, in fact his nickname was “Mr Keni Basami”as it was his signature throw. He could do it from any angle left or right hand. Yes by the time we were taught this it was banned. Any throw has danger. Thank you for the throwback

It looks like the guy in the blue gi could swipe the hands of the white gi guy off his head with his free hand. This is why you have to continue using striking while on the ground for self defense which is what MMA is all about.

Well done Mr ! I live here in The United Kingdom . I was an enthusiastic Canoe Paddler. A Canoist , in the 90s when we had access to canoes thanks to my much missed Uncle Paul. The Legendary Rock Climber and Geologist. I remember doing a journey , down a river in Devon , England . The journey was only 3 miles downstream , I had a support team composed of my sister and my mum . It was only a few miles on the map . But, it took a long time , in an old Sea Kayak ! Made of fibreglass. My sister was living in Vancouver, Canada. Actually during Covid-19. So, thanks for taking care of her ! It's amazing to hear that your jouney was possible. I travelled down. The River Avon. In the county of Devon. England. From. A very beautiful old stone Bridge . I think it was named. Topsham Bridge and, I canoed down river . Under Hatch Bridge , and down to Aveton Gifford. In Devon. My mum and, sister watched me pass under each of the old stone bridges . I passed under. Probably, one of the most interesting, parts of the journey was passing over a couple of weirs. The lower weir, necessary for the supply of water to a village was just about legal under English Law. Interestingly. English law , has prohibited fishing weirs , for hundreds of years in waters that are not tidal ! Perhaps the upper weir, I encountered might have been illegal , and a hazard to fish stocks ? And, one day. I might report it, if only I could remember it's location ! It's only on rare occasions that, I observed fish in that river !

Hello stephen I've been an avid watcher and fan for many years now. I haven't trained for 2 years as a result of a bad hip injury. I want to resume my training when I have my hip replacement. I only recently seen you have had yours done. How are you getting on are you able to still train and maybe spar. I need some positive news as I consider myself only temporarily sidelined. Thanks and keep up the great work.
